The municipality of Gryfice is auctioning off the former residence of the von Bismarck family, the so-called New Castle in Plathe (Płoty) in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

The subject of the tender is the plot of land with a castle and park in the centre of the city Płoty at 3 Sienkiewicza Street, listed in the Land Register under No KW SZ1G/00030519/1, marked with plot No 495/8 with an area of 8.96 ha, entered in the Register of Real Estate Monuments of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Short exposition:
The New Castle was built in the years 1606-1618 according to a similar pattern as the Old Castle and was extended several times over the centuries. The present appearance is due to the German architect Paul Korff, who extended the old Renaissance castle in 1910-1912 in neo-baroque forms. During this period the clock tower was built and crowned with a dome. Another wing was added on the river side, which harmonises perfectly with the other parts of the building. The castle and park complex also includes outbuildings directly adjacent to Wojska Polskiego Street. The entrance to the residence was through a closed main gate. In its new form, the castle was one of the most beautiful in Western Pomerania and remained largely undestroyed during the two world wars. After 1945 it became the seat of the first agricultural school and later a boarding school. Inside, large parts of the representative architecture have been preserved. The land on which the castle is situated is provided with electricity, water and sewage connections. Access to the property is via a municipal road. There is a right of access for owners of flats in the buildings on the street side of the plot. However, they do not significantly impede future use.
